MDS Training Program Alumni

Lacroix's MDS Coordinator Orientation Program is a rigorous 3-month educational series focused training assessment nurses the right way from day one. We have structured this orientation in such a way that an MDS Coordinator that completes our program will  understand the importance of being compliant with CMS and the RAI Manual and reimbursement maximization. Investing in training and providing advanced skill sets for employees is crucial in our field. Not only does it enhance individual capabilities but also strengthens the entire healthcare team.

Christina Fulfer

Christina’s nursing career journey:
" Becoming a nurse was not just a profession for me—it was a calling whispered to me from my granny, who spent her life as a CNA. She always told me that my hands were meant to heal, that my heart was big enough to bring comfort and kindness to those who needed it. For 10 years now, I have worked in long-term care, and I have come to cherish when a resident’s eyes light up because someone truly listens. There is wisdom in hearing their stories, their triumphs, their lessons, the experience that only time and living can give. "

Christina's thoughts on working with Lacroix:
" Lacroix has been the greatest resource throughout our MDS training. Whether it was a quick email, a reassuring message, multiple Zoom call, or one of the countless check-ins, I always felt supported, never alone in the learning curve. Now, I can truly say—without hesitation—that I am an MDS nurse. If ever I’m uncertain, I know exactly where to turn: the resources, the team, and yes, that darn (if sometimes daunting) RAI Manual. "

Dashawn Lawrence

Dashawn’s nursing career journey:
" My journey into nursing began after I worked as a patient care partner at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Surrounded by truly exceptional nurses, I found myself inspired by their skill, grace, and generosity. Their encouragement was the light that guided me through nursing school, pushing me to reach for more. Now, after fifteen years working in long-term care, I’ve come to value the stories our residents share. My purpose renewed day after day, knowing the power of connection and compassion in the smallest, most human ways. "

Dashawn's thoughts on working with Lacroix:
" Through it all, I have learned so much from Lacroix. Utilizing the skills and resources given to me, I feel very confident in my role as an MDS nurse now. Each day I step onto the floor, I carry with me the knowledge, mentorship, and unwavering support Lacroix's team provides. "
